Notes about the Carving.
This is a 'classic' Green Man, rising out of the English tradition with the leaves emerging from the mouth and bony structure of the face.
This carving appeared on the covers of Woodcarving magazine and 'Green Men and Wood Spirits'

The carving is finished directly from the chisel and sealed with wax.
Each version I carve is similar but unique in the grain pattern and somewhat different in how I carve the leaves - so your carving won't look exactly like the one in the photographs. Nevertheless it will be close to what is shown. will
