Green Man MK.I Terry Moss Brown Oak, 2002 12in. round; 3in. thick. Author's Notes about the Carving.
I would like to be more creative with the title but its not easy with something called a Greenman. I originally named this and the next under MK numbers so I will stick at that - the old meets the new!
Greenman MK I is inspired by a stone greenman carving I found at the abandoned mansion at Woodchester. Being a stone carving it did not translate directly into wood so I redesigned it to suit the medium.
About the Carver.
I have been carving since 1962 and have done other carvings of the greenman but decided to do a series for myself based on a circle, ellipse, trapezium and square.

Would you like to contribute an interesting, contemporary, Green Man (gargoyles, grotesque etc) woodcarving?
Write to me, telling me a little about it first. | |
