The technique of lettering in stone is a lot easier than if you were working in wood, there is no grain to consider and the tools and method are simpler.
However, you also need a much surer eye since you cannot use the natural sweep of a gouge to jig a smooth curve.
If you want to try lettering in stone - this is the book to start with - as simple as that.
Excellent, straight forward advice; clear pictures; excellent exercises.
